Whyborne has freshly arrived in this land and is trying to get his footing within the ranks as not only a soldier but one with sorcery as well. He recognizes this makes him a valuable friend to make -- in more than one way.

GENERAL PREFERENCES

Gender/Race: Whyborne is as gay as a daisy and unfortunately this means he is in no way attracted (at all) to anyone of the female persuasion
Age: He is very "proper" and thus in general would only consider sleeping with someone who is clearly an adult. Definitely a hard line of 18+ for age, though the maturity must be there as well. Not TOO mature however -- if you're too close to reminding him of his father that's weird for him as well. 50-ish is probably his uppermost limit.
Medium: No medium preferences!
Rating: Whyborne himself would really only consent up to R-rated materials, which IS pretty progressive considering he's Victorian. I need plot to accompany my smut however, and Whyborne needs a reason to be sleeping with your character, especially if he does not know them yet, as a hard warning on that front. He is not the sort of man to randomly or enthusiastically bed a stranger without reason. (There could definitely be reason, though.)

Are there any powers other characters MAY NOT use on your character?: I don't have any hard rules against using powers on Whyborne, but in general please check with me first! Especially when this comes to being able to sense his non-human ancestry, since Whyborne does not fully understand his own heritage yet. Please do not spoil him to his own canon. You can hint at it! (He smells like the ocean, etc) But don't spoil it for him before I decide to bump his canon that direction.

Whyborne is fairly demure as a character but at the same time he is a sorcerer, unaware of non-human ancestry in his past. He can do a handful of spells, including lighting fire, summoning the wind, moving water, calling lightning, and also moving earth, although the last causes him some difficulties. He has no psychic abilities though he does know how to shield himself against a psychic intrusion from another. During times of emotional distress or excitement (such as during sex or when he is angry) his magic gets away from him and the elements around get in on the action without his conscious decision to call on them doing so, such as the wind picking up or the water swirling, fire burning brighter, etc. I will of course check with people individually before using magic but if you would like to avoid anything involving Whyborne's magic, please let me know! Additionally, Whyborne's past and that of his lover are complicated and somewhat triggering, especially that of his lover Griffin. While Whyborne had a fairly accepting upbringing, even in regards to his sexuality, Griffin's parents were very religious and felt they had no choice but to cast him out of town when he was caught with the neighbor's son in the barn. Going to Chicago, Griffin did a lot of sleeping around, including with his partner in the Pinkertons. Unfortunately Griffin's partner is killed horribly by a terrible monster in front of Griffin, causing him to think he's losing his mind, and causing the Pinkertons to believe as much as well. They commit him to an asylum and while he is there, somehow the doctors there catch wind of Griffin's inclinations towards men, and try to use electric shock therapy to try and cure him of it, the attendants there taking advantage of him in his delicate situation while he is there. Eventually his father rescues him from that place and takes him home to recover, where Griffin does before finally leaving to make a life in Widdershins, MA where he meets Whyborne. But it's a large part of his past and Whyborne knows all about it. Especially in a place like this, where there is so much in the way of dubious consent, in Whyborne's eyes, he will probably be thinking about the whole ordeal a lot. If you would rather not have him think about it in any thread with your character (he probably won't mention any of it aloud unless he really opens up to your character, which is possible as well of course) please let me know if you would like to avoid this mention of Griffin's past in any way!
